When you’re a newbie teacher, imitating those you look up to and want to emulate is a great way to try out different teacher hats. Using the cues we’ve heard from others is natural and totally OK! Most likely some of these words resonated with you, which is why you like this teacher in the first place. Like any hat, they don’t always fit or look the way you want them to. One of my favs cues that stuck with me is to “imagine you are pressing lemons into the floor as you lower your heels.”
As you get more comfortable it’s fun to find your own sayings and words! You know CUE YOU!
