Have you ever seen a house built from the roof first? No of course not! Setting up a foundation of proper technique is key to setting up the body for success in class. Approaching your teaching like stacking blocks, is a great way to layer in the cues you use, the fundamentals of the exercise, and a solid understanding of what is working in the exercise. The first block in my teaching formula is all about setting the body up Setting up a solid foundation for your classes will make your teaching become easier with time. Your students will begin to not only know the proper technique of each exercise, but the vocabulary you set up during class. In a time where there may be a lot of newer people joining classes after the holidays, this is the perfect opportunity to get everyone set up to move forward in a safe and effective way!
